Transfers Synthesis
The recorded movement pattern shows Jong AZ operating as a pathway with arrivals from both the wider AZ structure and external clubs, alongside loans, free-agent entries and conventional transfers. M. Roede moved from AZ Alkmaar, while Bohdan Budko is recorded from AZ U19, illustrating internal progression within the listed activity. External arrivals include I. Ka from Feyenoord, M. Ibrahimovic from AC Milan and Rodrigo Macedo from SC Braga. The departures show the other side of that circulation: J. Hartog moved to AZ Alkmaar, Sydney Osazuwa returned to Real Sociedad II after a loan, and several players left for loans, free transfers or transfers elsewhere in the Dutch and international game. The chronology also includes repeat loan activity for S. Dekkers and S. Westerveld. These records describe movement across several seasons rather than a complete market account, and no financial amounts are recorded.
Leagues Jong AZ has participated in
Jong AZ has recorded participation in the Eerste Divisie from 2017 through 2025, with the competition marked as recently active in the available history. The Dutch second tier is the team’s core professional setting, aligning its reserve-team role with regular matches against senior opposition. Friendlies Clubs are also recorded from 2020 through 2025 and likewise remain a recent part of the competition history. The recorded participation covers league and friendly activity; it does not by itself establish a 2026 fixture list or a final league standing.
More about Jong AZ
Jong AZ is the professional reserve and development side of AZ Alkmaar, representing the final competitive step in the club’s academy structure. It is based in Alkmaar, while home fixtures are primarily played at the AFAS Trainingscomplex in neighboring Wijdewormer. The venue is an intimate training-ground setting closely connected to the senior club’s daily work, rather than the larger matchday environment of AFAS Stadion.
The team’s purpose is to bridge youth football and the demands of the professional game. Academy graduates, under-21 prospects and selected international recruits develop through a setting that combines regular senior opposition with close alignment to AZ’s football philosophy. Technical improvement, tactical understanding, professional habits and continuity between age groups are central to that model. Recovering senior players may also appear within the wider development structure, although the group is fundamentally built around progression.
Jong AZ operates within the professional Dutch pyramid through the Eerste Divisie. Its position gives young players high-level experience without making the reserve side a conventional standalone club. Under Dutch competition rules, it cannot be promoted to the Eredivisie or enter the KNVB Cup alongside AZ’s senior team. The arrangement keeps the focus on player development, internal competition and preparation for senior football.
Organizationally, Jong AZ sits fully under AZ Alkmaar’s sporting and corporate umbrella. It shares the parent club’s red-and-white visual identity, core crest and regional connection, creating a clear link from academy football to the first team. The coaching approach is developmental, emphasizing tactical alignment, individual technique and behavioral consistency with the senior blueprint rather than results alone.
This structure gives Jong AZ a distinctive role in Dutch football: a professional match environment designed to turn promising academy players into senior-ready competitors while maintaining the identity and standards of AZ Alkmaar.
