Florian Richard Wirtz
Florian Richard Wirtz is a German attacking midfielder, born in Pulheim on 3 May 2003. He began at SV Grün-Weiß Brauweiler before joining 1. FC Köln’s academy in 2010. Wirtz captained Köln to the German Under-17 championship in 2019, then moved to Bayer Leverkusen in January 2020. Soon after arriving, he became Leverkusen’s youngest Bundesliga debutant and scored against Bayern Munich in June 2020. An ACL injury against Köln in March 2022 kept him out for ten months, but he returned in January 2023. Under Xabi Alonso, Wirtz helped Leverkusen complete an unbeaten domestic double in 2023–24, including a hat-trick against Werder Bremen that sealed the Bundesliga title. He joined Liverpool in 2025 and is also part of Germany’s senior setup.
