William Alain André Gabriel Saliba

William Saliba is a French centre-back born in Bondy on 24 March 2001. He developed at FC Montfermeil before joining Saint-Étienne in 2016, where he broke into the first team at 17. Saliba helped Saint-Étienne qualify for the Europa League before Arsenal signed him in July 2019. Rather than immediately debuting for Arsenal, he spent time on loan at Saint-Étienne, Nice and Marseille, returning to London after the 2021–22 season. At Marseille, he was named Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year and earned his first senior France cap. He made his Arsenal competitive debut in August 2022, and his pace, strength, tackling and composed distribution established him as a regular centre-back. In 2023–24, Saliba became the first Arsenal player to play every minute of a Premier League campaign and also featured for France at Euro 2024.
