Thomas Teye Partey

Thomas Teye Partey is a Ghanaian defensive midfielder born in Odumase Krobo on 13 June 1993. He developed with Revelation FC and Tema Youth before moving to Spain and joining Atlético Madrid in 2012. Loan spells at Mallorca and Almería gave Partey his first professional experience, with his first top-flight goals arriving for Almería in 2015. Returning to Atlético’s first team later that year, he contributed to a squad that won the 2018 UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup and reached the 2016 Champions League final. In October 2020, Partey transferred to Arsenal, where his role included protecting the defence, progressing possession and operating as a central midfielder or inverted right-back. He helped Arsenal win the 2023 FA Community Shield. Partey has also represented Ghana at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
