Trai Hume

Trai Hume is a Northern Irish right-back born in Ballymena on 18 March 2002. He developed with Ballymena United before joining Linfield in 2013, signing his first professional contract there in 2019. Hume made his senior debut for Linfield in April 2019 and later gained first-team experience during a season-long loan at Ballymena United in 2020–21. Returning to Linfield, he established himself at right-back and featured in European qualifying matches. Sunderland signed Hume in January 2022, beginning his career in English football. He adapted to Championship football and has also filled in at left-back and centre-back, including during Sunderland’s 2023 play-off run. Hume was part of the Sunderland squad that secured promotion to the Premier League in 2025, while he made his Northern Ireland senior debut against Hungary in March 2022.
