Samuele Ricci

Samuele Ricci is an Italian midfielder born in Pontedera on 21 August 2001. He joined Empoli’s academy at age ten and broke into senior football during the 2019–20 Serie B season. Ricci helped Empoli win the 2020–21 Serie B title and received the Manlio Scopigno award as the league’s best player. In January 2022, he moved to Torino on loan, with the transfer later becoming permanent. There, he evolved from a mezzala into a regista and wore the captain’s armband. His game centers on retaining possession under pressure, combining secure passing, quick turns and intelligent positioning to support deep build-up. Ricci made his Italy debut against Germany in the Nations League on 4 June 2022, having represented Italy at youth level. In July 2025, he joined AC Milan, continuing his steady rise.
