Pontus Jansson
Pontus Jansson is a Swedish centre-back born in Arlöv on 13 February 1991. He developed at Arlövs BI before joining Malmö FF’s youth system in 2006, making his first-team debut as a forward in 2009. In 2010, he was converted to defence and established himself at centre-back, later becoming a key figure in Malmö’s first team. Jansson moved to Torino in 2014 and made 25 appearances across two seasons before joining Leeds United on loan in 2016. His performances in England earned him places in the EFL and PFA Championship Teams of the Season in 2016/17 and 2018/19. In 2019, Jansson joined Brentford and captained the club to promotion through the 2021 Championship play-off final. He returned to Malmö in 2023, helping the club win Allsvenskan titles in 2023 and 2024 and the Svenska Cupen in 2024.
