Matías Nahuel Leiva Esquivel
Matías Nahuel Leiva Esquivel, known as Nahuel Leiva, is a Spanish left winger born in Rosario, Argentina. He developed at Escuela ADIUR before joining Villarreal’s academy in 2011, progressing to the senior side and making his La Liga debut in 2014. Nahuel scored his first professional goal against Astana in the UEFA Europa League and represented Spain at youth level. In 2015, he helped Spain win the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He later spent time on loan at Real Betis before moving to Olympiakos Piraeus, followed by further spells involving Tenerife and Real Oviedo. Nahuel found greater consistency with Śląsk Wrocław, scoring nine goals and supplying two assists in 28 Ekstraklasa matches in 2023–24. He subsequently joined Maccabi Haifa and is listed with Johor Darul Takzim FC.
