Nathan Kenneth Patterson

Nathan Kenneth Patterson is a Scottish right-back born in Glasgow in 2001. He joined Rangers’ academy at eight and spent a decade developing there, also attending the Scottish FA’s Performance Schools programme at Holyrood Secondary School. Patterson made his senior breakthrough during the 2020–21 season, stepping in when captain James Tavernier was injured. He scored against Royal Antwerp in February 2021, finding the net 16.6 seconds after entering as a substitute. In January 2022, Everton signed Patterson from Rangers for an initial £11 million, making the transfer a record sale for the Glasgow club at that time. He has also represented Scotland and scored his first international goal against Moldova in November 2021. At Everton, Patterson has operated as an energetic full-back, combining overlapping runs with aggressive pressing and defensive work, while ankle and hamstring injuries have interrupted his progress.
