Matthias Köbbing

Matthias Köbbing was born in Koblenz, Germany, on 28 May 1997 and developed through local football with SV 1919 Ochtendung and TuS Koblenz. At 13, he joined the youth academy of 1. FSV Mainz 05 before moving to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2012. Köbbing spent the following years in Hoffenheim’s youth system, remaining there until 2016. He then continued his development with 1. FC Heidenheim and FC 08 Homburg. In summer 2020, he joined 1. FC Köln, initially signing for the club’s under-21 side. By winter 2021, Matthias Köbbing had moved into Köln’s first-team setup, where he has contributed to the training environment without making a competitive first-team appearance, according to the available account. Standing 1.96 metres tall, he later extended his Köln contract through 30 June 2027 and also works with the club’s under-15 players.
