Mark Flekken

Mark Flekken is a Dutch goalkeeper born on 13 June 1993 in Bocholtz. He began at RKVV WDZ, joined Roda JC Kerkrade, and moved to Alemannia Aachen at 16, later signing his first professional contract in 2011. After joining SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2013, he spent three seasons mainly as a reserve. Flekken established himself at MSV Duisburg from 2016, scoring a late equaliser against VfL Osnabrück and helping the club win 3. Liga promotion as champions. He moved to SC Freiburg in 2018, initially serving as deputy before becoming the club’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2021–22 season, when Freiburg reached the DFB-Pokal final and secured European football. In 2023, Flekken joined Brentford, where his distribution and saves made him a prominent Premier League goalkeeper across two seasons. He subsequently moved to Bayer Leverkusen and also represents the Netherlands internationally.
