Majeed Ashimeru

Majeed Ashimeru is a Ghanaian central midfielder from Accra, born on 10 October 1997. He began at Strong Tower FC in Mamobi before joining the West African Football Academy (WAFA), where he developed and made his Ghana Premier League debut against Liberty Professionals in March 2016. In 2017, Ashimeru moved to Red Bull Salzburg and continued his education through spells with Austria Lustenau and Wolfsberger AC. He then joined FC St. Gallen, gaining regular Swiss top-flight experience during the 2018–19 season. After returning to Salzburg, he joined Anderlecht on loan before the Belgian club made the transfer permanent in 2021. Ashimeru has represented Ghana and started against Cape Verde and Egypt at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where a long-range effort against Cape Verde was disallowed by VAR. Listed with RAAL La Louvière, he is known for carrying the ball through lines, attempting incisive passes and operating centrally or in a more advanced midfield role.
