Jerome Osei Opoku

Jerome Osei Opoku is an English-born defender who represents İstanbul Başakşehir and Ghana. Born in London on 14 October 1998, he joined Fulham’s academy in 2009, developed from a wide role into central defence, and captained the club’s under-23s by 2018–19. He also led Fulham’s under-16s to Premier League International Cup success in 2014. Opoku entered senior football on loan at Accrington Stanley in 2019–20, then played for Plymouth Argyle in 2020–21, scoring his first professional goal. He continued his development with Vejle Boldklub before leaving Fulham for FC Arouca in 2022. After helping Arouca establish itself in Portugal’s top flight, he joined Başakşehir, initially on loan in 2023. Jerome Osei Opoku has since featured for the Turkish club as a centre-back and made his Ghana debut against the United States in October 2023.
