Jan Kacper Bednarek

Jan Kacper Bednarek is a right-footed centre-back from Słupca, Poland, who stands 189 cm tall. He developed with Sokół Kleczew and MSP Szamotuły before joining Lech Poznań’s academy in 2012. Bednarek made his senior debut for Lech in September 2013, then spent the 2015–16 season on loan at Górnik Łęczna. He returned to Lech as a regular starter and moved to Southampton in 2017. At Southampton, he developed from a squad option into a long-term Premier League defender, making more than 250 appearances for the club. He also helped Southampton win the Championship play-offs in 2024. Bednarek later continued his career with FC Porto, where his defensive positioning and build-up passing support a possession-based side. He has represented Poland at major tournaments, including the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and Euro 2020 and 2024, adding international experience to his disciplined central defending.
