Grant Campbell Hanley

Grant Campbell Hanley is a Scottish defender, primarily a central defender, born in Dumfries on 20 November 1991. He began with Queen of the South before joining Crewe Alexandra, returning to Scotland with Rangers and then moving to Blackburn Rovers as a teenager. Hanley made his Premier League debut for Blackburn in 2010 and developed into a regular and captain during his six-year spell. In 2016, he joined Newcastle United and helped them win the Championship and secure promotion to the Premier League. Norwich City became his longest club chapter from 2017, with Hanley captaining the side to Championship titles in 2018–19 and 2020–21. After Birmingham City’s 2025 League One title, he returned to Scotland with Hibernian. Hanley has earned more than 60 Scotland caps and represented his country at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.
