Filip Szymczak

Filip Szymczak is a Polish forward born in Poznań on 6 May 2002. He developed in the Lech Poznan academy and signed his first professional contract with the club in May 2019, while also featuring in the UEFA Youth League during the 2018/19 season. Szymczak made limited first-team appearances for Lech before joining GKS Katowice on loan for the 2021/22 campaign. In Poland’s second tier, he played 32 matches and scored 11 goals, establishing himself in senior football. Returning to Lech, he contributed during the club’s 2022/23 UEFA Europa Conference League campaign and scored against Hapoel Be’er Sheva. A knee injury in April 2023 interrupted that progress, but he continued his career after returning to action. Szymczak is listed with Zaglebie Lubin and can operate centrally or from the right, combining a 187-centimetre frame with forward movement and defensive work.
