Franco Israel Wibmer
Franco Israel Wibmer is a Uruguayan goalkeeper born in Nueva Helvecia on 22 April 2000. He developed at Club Artesano from 2010 to 2016 before joining Nacional’s academy in 2017. With Nacional, Israel started the 2018 U-20 Copa Libertadores final, helping the club defeat Independiente del Valle 1–0 and win the competition. Juventus signed him later that year, and he spent four seasons developing in Italy, featuring for the club’s Under-23 side and receiving senior-team call-ups without making a first-team appearance. In July 2022, Israel moved to Sporting CP, where he progressed from a reserve option to increased involvement in domestic and Champions League football. He returned to Italy with Torino in July 2025 and was brought into the first-team picture as a goalkeeper. At international level, Israel represented Uruguay in youth football, made his senior debut in a 4–1 win over Nicaragua in June 2023, and was included in the squad for the 2024 Copa América.
