Etrit Berisha

Etrit Berisha is an Albanian goalkeeper born in Prishtinë on 10 March 1989. He began playing as a midfielder with KF 2 Korriku at eight, moved to KF KEK in 2004, returned in 2007, and later changed position before earning a trial with Kalmar FF. After a developmental loan at Lindsdals IF, Berisha established himself at Kalmar, becoming a first-team goalkeeper in 2010 and winning the Allsvenskan Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2013. He moved to Lazio that year, initially serving as Federico Marchetti’s deputy, before joining Atalanta on loan in 2016 and contributing to a fourth-place Serie A finish and Europa League qualification. Later spells with SPAL, Torino and Empoli brought further Italian top-flight experience in both starting and reserve roles. Internationally, Berisha became Albania’s goalkeeper at UEFA Euro 2016, keeping a clean sheet in the 1–0 victory over Romania, the country’s first win at a major tournament. In April 2025, he returned to Sweden with BK Häcken, adding experience from a career that has combined reflex saves, penalty-taking and active work outside his area.
