Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta is an Italian defender who operates primarily as a right-sided wing-back. Born in Sora in 1992, he began at local club AS Sora before making his senior debut with Isola Liri and moving to Atalanta in 2011. He spent three seasons with Avellino, helping the club win promotion to Serie B, before returning to Atalanta and making his Serie A breakthrough in 2014. Zappacosta joined Torino in 2015, where his energetic flank play and crossing developed further. He moved to Chelsea in 2017, scoring on his Champions League debut against Qarabag and collecting FA Cup and Europa League winners’ medals. After returning to Italy in 2019, he rejoined Atalanta and later started the 2024 Europa League final, assisting the opening goal in a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Davide Zappacosta continues to provide width and defensive work for Atalanta, with the ability to contribute from either flank.
