Alejandro Berenguer Remiro

Álex Berenguer, whose full name is Alejandro Berenguer Remiro, is a Spanish attacking midfielder born in Pamplona in 1995. He developed at Osasuna, joining the club’s academy from SD Lagunak before progressing through the reserve side and making his senior debut in the 2014 Copa del Rey. Berenguer helped Osasuna win promotion to La Liga in 2016, then moved to Torino in 2017. During three seasons in Italy, he broadened his role across the wing, wing-back and attacking midfield positions. Athletic Club signed him in 2020, bringing him back to Spain and making him part of its attacking options. At San Mamés, he has combined dribbling and progressive carries with set-piece delivery, pressing and defensive work. Álex Berenguer also scored the decisive penalty in Athletic’s 2024 Copa del Rey shootout victory over Mallorca, which ended the club’s 40-year wait for the trophy.
