Alidu Seidu

Alidu Seidu is a Ghanaian defender born in Abidjan on 4 June 2000. He developed at the JMG Academy before joining Clermont Foot in 2019, beginning his professional rise in France. Seidu made his Ligue 2 debut in 2020 and helped Clermont secure promotion to Ligue 1. Primarily a right-back, he can also operate at centre-back, bringing aggressive tackling, close marking and the mobility to defend in wide or central areas. His performances for Clermont led to a move to Rennes in January 2024, where he continued his career in Ligue 1. Seidu has represented Ghana at senior level, including at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Alidu Seidu’s progression reflects a steady ascent from academy football to top-flight club and international football.
