Alessandro Buongiorno
Alessandro Buongiorno is an Italian centre-back born in Turin on 6 June 1999. He joined Torino’s youth system at seven and spent 17 years there, helping the Primavera win the Coppa Italia Primavera in 2017–18. Buongiorno made his senior debut against Crotone in April 2018, then developed through loans with Carpi and Trapani, where he played 13 matches during the 2019–20 Serie B campaign. Returning to Torino, he established himself under Ivan Jurić’s intense defensive system and captained the club for the first time against Sassuolo in September 2022. In July 2024, Buongiorno moved to Napoli, becoming part of the squad that won Serie A in 2024–25. He made his Italy debut against the Netherlands in June 2023 and was selected for Euro 2024. At 190 centimetres, Buongiorno offers a strong aerial presence and can operate in either a back three or back four.
