Alejandro Bedoya

Alejandro Bedoya is a midfielder born in Englewood, New Jersey, on April 29, 1987. He developed through youth football in Florida before playing college soccer at Fairleigh Dickinson and Boston College. Bedoya moved to Sweden to begin his professional career and later represented Helsingborg, gaining experience as a hard-working wide and central midfielder. He then joined French club Nantes, where he faced Ligue 1 opposition before returning to North America. Since joining the Philadelphia Union, Bedoya has combined ball recovery, positional discipline and calm distribution with influential leadership. For the United States, he played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and helped win the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. At Philadelphia Union, Alejandro Bedoya developed into a long-serving captain and central midfield presence, contributing experience while adapting his role as his career progressed.
