Zidane Aamar Iqbal
Zidane Aamar Iqbal is a Manchester-born Iraqi central midfielder who developed through the Manchester United academy after joining at nine. He made his senior Manchester United debut in December 2021, appearing as a substitute against Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League. Iqbal also featured during the club’s 2022 pre-season, but competitive first-team opportunities remained limited. In June 2023, he moved to Utrecht, continuing his development in the Netherlands. At Utrecht, Zidane Iqbal has been involved with both the senior Eredivisie side and Jong Utrecht in the Eerste Divisie. He represents Iraq internationally, making his senior debut in January 2022 and scoring his first international goal against the Philippines in March 2024. In midfield, he is valued for close control, press resistance and the ability to receive under pressure, turn away from challenges and progress possession from deep.
