Zion Suzuki

Zion Suzuki is a Japanese goalkeeper from Saitama who developed in the Urawa Red Diamonds academy. He signed a professional contract with Urawa at 16 years and five months, reportedly becoming the youngest player to do so in the club’s history. Suzuki made his professional debut in March 2021 and recorded clean sheets in each of his first three J1 League appearances. Although initially serving mainly as an understudy, he was part of Urawa’s squad that won the 2022 AFC Champions League. In 2023, he moved to Belgian club Sint-Truiden on loan, and the transfer was made permanent in February 2024 after he had established himself in the Belgian Pro League. Parma then signed Suzuki in July 2024, giving him a route into Serie A, where he debuted against Fiorentina in August. He has also represented Japan at senior level, including the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, and remains linked with both Parma and the national team.
