Zachary Scerri

Zachary Scerri is a Maltese defensive midfielder who developed in the Hibernians youth system and began making senior appearances during the 2013/14 season. In 2016, he moved to Gżira United, beginning a long spell in which he grew into a regular starter and later captained the side. Scerri became a dependable presence in the Maltese top flight, helping Gżira through several European qualifying campaigns. His work has centred on screening the defence, breaking up attacks and recycling possession from midfield. Right-footed, he has also operated in central midfield and filled in at full-back when required. In European qualifiers, Scerri gained experience against opponents including HNK Rijeka, Hajduk Split and Sant Julià. He joined Floriana in January 2025, carrying his experience and ball-retention skills into a new chapter.
