Zaidu Sanusi
Zaidu Sanusi is a Nigerian left-back born in Kebbi State on 13 June 1997. He developed with Jega United before attracting attention while playing for Mutunchi FC in a Kaduna State tournament. In 2016, Sanusi moved to Portugal and joined Gil Vicente, then gained regular football on loan at third-tier SC Mirandela. He made that move permanent in 2018 before stepping up to Santa Clara in 2019, where he established himself in the Primeira Liga. FC Porto signed Sanusi in 2020, and his pace, recovery running and direct play have since shaped his work on the left flank. On 7 May 2022, he scored Porto’s late winner against Benfica to secure a 1–0 victory and confirm the club’s 30th league title. Sanusi made his Nigeria debut in 2020 and has represented the Super Eagles at Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
