Zaid Abner Romero
Zaid Abner Romero is an Argentine defender born in Mendoza on December 15, 1999. He developed in Godoy Cruz’s youth system and made his professional debut for the club in December 2019. In 2021, Romero joined Villa Dálmine on loan, gaining first-team experience in Argentina’s second tier before returning to Godoy Cruz. He moved on loan to Ecuadorian side LDU Quito in January 2022, where he established himself as a ball-playing centre-back. Estudiantes de La Plata acquired him in December 2022, and he was part of the squads that won the Copa Argentina in 2023 and Copa de la Liga in 2024. Romero then moved to Club Brugge in June 2024, adding the Belgian Cup and Super Cup to his honours. In January 2026, he joined Getafe on loan, continuing his career in La Liga.
