Zhirayr Margaryan
Zhirayr Margaryan is an Armenian football defender who plays as a left-back. Born in Yerevan in 1997, he developed in the Banants Yerevan system, appearing for its reserve and third-tier sides between 2013 and 2015. He then gained senior experience with Shirak from 2017 to 2020 before joining Ararat Yerevan, where he was part of the team that won the Armenian Cup in 2020/21. In early 2022, Margaryan moved to Ukrainian Premier League club NK Veres Rivne, but the circumstances in Ukraine disrupted that spell and led to loan moves back to Armenia. He subsequently returned to Urartu, helping the club win the Armenian Premier League and Armenian Cup in 2022/23. Margaryan made his Armenia debut against North Macedonia in a 2022 World Cup qualifier on 11 November 2021. He remains associated with FC Urartu, contributing experience on Armenia’s left flank.
