Žiga Lipušček

Žiga Lipušček is a Slovenian centre-back who stands 199 centimetres tall. He developed in Maribor’s academy, progressing through the club’s under-19 setup and into Maribor II between 2014 and 2016. Seeking senior football, Lipušček joined ND Gorica in June 2017 and established himself in Slovenia’s Prva Liga over the following three seasons. He also represented Slovenia at under-16 level and received an under-21 call-up in 2018. In February 2020, he moved to Rīgas FS in Latvia, where his size and defensive presence have made him an important part of the back line. At RFS, Lipušček has featured in European qualifying and group-stage campaigns while helping the club win Virsliga titles in 2021, 2023 and 2024. He has also been part of Latvian Cup-winning teams in 2021 and 2024, continuing his career with Rīgas FS as a prominent central defender.
