Žan Kolmanič

Žan Kolmanič is a Slovenian left-back born in Celje on 3 March 2000. He developed in the youth systems of NK Veržej and NS Mura before joining NK Maribor in 2017. With Maribor’s under-19 side, he made seven UEFA Youth League starts between 2017 and 2019, then moved into senior football. In the 2018–19 season, Kolmanič made 14 first-team appearances as Maribor won the Slovenian PrvaLiga title, and he finished four seasons with 45 appearances and six assists for the club. In March 2021, he joined Austin FC on loan and became part of the MLS expansion club’s inaugural roster. Primarily a left-back, he contributes width through crossing and has also been used at left centre-back to support build-up play. After an ACL injury in April 2023, Kolmanič returned in 2024 and supplied two assists in Austin’s season finale against Colorado.
