Žiga Frelih

Žiga Frelih is a Slovenian goalkeeper born in Ljubljana on 6 February 1998. Standing 1.97 metres tall, he developed through Slovenian football before entering the senior game with Celje and later establishing himself at Olimpija Ljubljana. At Olimpija, he helped the club win the 2020–21 Slovenian Cup and was called into the Slovenia senior setup as a deputy to Jan Oblak. He subsequently moved to Gil Vicente in Portugal, gaining experience in the Primeira Liga. Frelih later continued his career abroad before returning to the regional stage with Spartak Trnava. With Spartak, he added the 2024–25 Slovak Cup to his honours. His height supports aerial coverage, while his proactive positioning allows him to challenge through balls outside the six-yard area. Frelih is also described as comfortable contributing to build-up play and distributing from deep.
