Zach Abbott

Zach Abbott is an English defender who developed through Nottingham Forest’s academy after joining the club at 11 in 2017. He progressed through Forest’s age groups and played the full 90 minutes of the 2022 FA Youth Cup final against Manchester United shortly before his 16th birthday. Abbott made his senior debut for Forest on 23 August 2022, featuring in a Carabao Cup win over Grimsby Town. He has since continued his development with Nottingham Forest and Nottingham Forest U21, while also representing Ashington AFC. In April 2025, Abbott started Forest’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley and played 83 minutes, operating at right-back. Naturally a centre-back, he offers positional versatility, recovery pace and composed short distribution. Abbott has represented England at youth level, captained the under-19s at the 2025 European Championship and is listed with England U20.
