Yuri Berchiche Izeta

Yuri Berchiche Izeta is a Spanish left-back from Zarautz, whose career has combined Basque roots with experience abroad. He developed at Antiguoko and Real Sociedad before joining Athletic Club’s youth system and moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2007. After leaving Tottenham in 2010, Yuri rebuilt his career at Real Unión and returned to Real Sociedad in 2012, while loan spells at Eibar helped the club secure successive promotions to La Liga. Back at Real Sociedad, he established himself as an attack-minded starter, using overlapping runs to drive into the final third. Paris Saint-Germain signed Yuri in 2017, and he won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue during his season in France. He returned to Athletic Club in 2018 and became a key left-back. He helped Athletic win the Copa del Rey in 2024.
