Yoel Lago Amil

Yoel Lago, a centre-back from Mondariz, Spain, was born on March 25, 2004. He began in his hometown with Mondariz FC before moving to Porriño Industrial and joining Celta Vigo’s academy in 2016. Lago progressed through the club’s youth structure and made his senior debut for Celta B on September 25, 2021, coming on as a substitute against Calahorra. In 2023, a strong preseason led to his continued involvement with the reserve side rather than the C team. He made his official first-team debut for Celta Vigo on May 26, 2024, starting a 2–2 La Liga draw with Valencia. During 2024–25, he played 29 matches for Celta Fortuna and trained with the senior squad. Celta renewed Lago’s contract through June 2029 in 2025. He later debuted in the Europa League and scored his first senior goal in the 2025–26 Copa del Rey.
