Yusuf Yazıcı
Yusuf Yazıcı is a Turkish attacking midfielder born in Trabzon in 1997. He developed at Trabzonspor, joining the club’s academy in 2008 before signing his first professional contract in December 2015. Yazıcı broke into the senior side during the 2015–16 season and became an important creative presence for his hometown team. In August 2019, he moved from Trabzonspor to Lille, where he helped the French club win the 2020–21 Ligue 1 title and the Trophée des Champions. His Lille spell also produced a hat-trick against Milan in the Europa League and a joint-top scorer finish in that competition’s 2020–21 campaign. After a loan spell with CSKA Moscow in 2022, Yazıcı continued his career with Olympiakos Piraeus. He has also represented Türkiye, while his ability to operate behind the forwards or in wider attacking areas has defined his evolving role.
