Yanis Merdji
Yanis Merdji attacks space from the center-forward role, peeling off the last line while dragging defenders and looking to finish. Yanis Merdji began at Auxerre, moved through Niort and Bourg-en-Bresse, then joined Bordeaux in 2024 to aid a rebuild. He thrives in half-spaces and gaps. At Auxerre he established himself as a Ligue 2 regular with 179 appearances and 31 goals across spells. A turning point came during Bourg-en-Bresse’ productive spell, scoring 16 goals in 60 appearances. Yanis Merdji moved to Bordeaux on 28 August 2024, tasked with linking play and finishing moves. He presses high to force turnovers and attacks the back post to get shots off quickly.
