Yeimar Pastor Gómez Andrade

Yeimar Pastor Gómez Andrade is a Colombian defender, born in Tadó on 30 June 1992. He left Colombia for Argentina at 14 and developed in Rosario Central’s youth system before loan spells with Tiro Federal and Arsenal de Sarandí. Gómez later established himself with Independiente Rivadavia in Argentina’s second tier, earning a move to Unión de Santa Fe in the top flight. His performances there led to a transfer to Seattle Sounders in early 2020. In Seattle, Gómez became a regular at centre-back and helped the team concede the fewest goals in the Western Conference during his first season. He was named the Sounders’ Defender of the Year from 2020 through 2024 and featured in their 2022 Concacaf Champions Cup triumph. Colombia called him up for World Cup qualifying in late 2021, fulfilling his ambition of representing the national team.
