Yacine Gaya

Yacine Gaya is an Algerian defender born in Bondy, France, on 15 November 2004. He began developing at AS Bondy, where he spent seven years before joining the Angers academy in 2019. Gaya progressed through Angers’ youth setup and represented the club’s under-19 side, including in the 2021–22 UEFA Youth League. He then moved into senior football with Angers SCO II during the 2022–23 season in Championnat National 2. In August 2025, Gaya joined Quevilly-Rouen Métropole on loan from Angers to gain first-team experience. Primarily a centre-back, he can also cover at left-back and brings a 1.84-metre frame to defensive and aerial contests. Gaya has also been involved with Algeria’s under-20 team, adding an international strand to his progression toward established senior football.
