Yves Bissouma
Yves Bissouma is a central midfielder born in Issia, Côte d’Ivoire, on 30 August 1996, and he represents Mali internationally. He developed at Majestic SC in Abidjan before moving to the JMG Academy in Bamako, where he trained alongside future Mali teammate Adama Traoré. Bissouma began his senior career in Mali before joining Lille in 2016 and making his Ligue 1 breakthrough. In 2018, he moved to Brighton, where his ball-winning, close control and ability to carry possession established him as an important Premier League midfielder. Tottenham signed Bissouma in 2022, and he has since operated mainly as a defensive midfielder, helping build play while protecting the back line. He was part of Tottenham’s squad that won the UEFA Europa League in 2025, adding a major European honour to a career shaped by progression from West Africa to England.
