Willy Kambwala Ndengushi

Willy Kambwala Ndengushi is a centre-back born in Kinshasa and representing France. He moved to France at five and developed with Elan Chevilly-Larue and US Alfortville before joining Sochaux’s academy in 2018. Manchester United signed him in October 2020, and an ankle injury soon after arrival interrupted his early progress. Kambwala returned to senior contention and made his United first-team debut away to West Ham United on 23 December 2023. During the 2023–24 season, he also started against Liverpool, using his size, recovery pace and aggressive tackling in a demanding defensive assignment. In July 2024, Manchester United transferred Kambwala to Villarreal, where he continued his development in Spain. At 192 centimetres, Willy Kambwala offers aerial strength and can step out to challenge attackers, while his long stride supports recovery defending and his passing allows him to carry or circulate possession from the back.
