Welinton Macedo dos Santos

Welinton Torrão, the commonly used name of Brazilian forward Welinton Macedo dos Santos, was born in Taguaí on 30 June 1999. He developed at Paraná Soccer Technical Center (PSTC) before attracting attention from Atlético Mineiro and Athletico Paranaense, then joining Cruzeiro’s under-20 side in 2019. Promoted after his youth displays, Welinton made his senior debut for Cruzeiro in July 2019, appearing as a substitute against Athletico Paranaense in Série A. From 2021 to 2023, he continued his development through spells with Inter de Limeira, Brasil de Pelotas, Novorizontino and Criciúma. He later found a productive platform at Athletic Club (MG), contributing three goals and five assists in 31 Série B appearances in 2025. In December 2025, the attacker moved to Santa Clara in Portugal. Used mainly on the right wing but able to operate across the front three, Welinton brings pace, crossing and direct running to his team’s attack.
