Walker Dwain Zimmerman

Walker Dwain Zimmerman is an American centre-back from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He developed through Gwinnett Soccer Association and Furman University, where he scored 11 goals in 39 appearances across 2011–12, earning consecutive All-American honors and Southern Conference Freshman of the Year. Selected seventh overall in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, Zimmerman began his professional career with FC Dallas and helped the club win the 2016 Supporters’ Shield and U.S. Open Cup. After moving to Los Angeles FC in 2018, he helped secure the 2019 Supporters’ Shield and was named to the MLS Best XI. Zimmerman joined Nashville SC for its inaugural season, where he scored the club’s first goal and won MLS Defender of the Year in 2020 and 2021. At international level, he represented the United States at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, starting three matches. He joined Toronto FC in 2026, adding experience and aerial strength to the Canadian club’s defence.
