Weston James Earl McKennie

Weston James Earl McKennie is an American midfielder born in Little Elm, Texas, on 28 August 1998. He developed in the FC Dallas Academy after spending part of his childhood in Germany, where he began playing with FC Phönix Otterbach. In 2016, McKennie moved to Schalke 04 rather than join FC Dallas or attend the University of Virginia, and he made his Bundesliga debut at 18. At Schalke, he became a versatile midfielder who also filled in at centre-back. McKennie joined Juventus on loan in August 2020, becoming the first American to play for the club, and later continued his career in Turin. He spent the 2023 season on loan at Leeds before returning to Juventus. Internationally, McKennie debuted for the United States in 2017 and has become a regular midfielder, valued for his pressing, running power and positional flexibility.
