Wesley Tidjan Fofana

Wesley Tidjan Fofana is a French centre-back, born in Marseille on 17 December 2000, who plays for Chelsea and has represented France. He began at SC Repos Vitrolles, developed with local clubs including SC Air Bel, and joined Saint-Étienne’s academy at 14. Fofana signed his first professional contract in 2018 and made his senior debut for Saint-Étienne in a 3–0 victory over Nice the following year. In October 2020, Leicester City signed him, and he quickly established himself in the Premier League. He started Leicester’s 1–0 FA Cup final victory over Chelsea in 2021, earning the first major honour of his career. Fofana moved to Chelsea in August 2022 and has since faced significant injury setbacks, including an ACL reconstruction in 2023. As a proactive defender, he uses his pace to recover, steps forward to challenge attackers and carries the ball into midfield.
