William Balikwisha

William Balikwisha is a Brussels-born midfielder who developed in Belgium before becoming a senior international for DR Congo. He joined Anderlecht’s youth academy at four and moved to Standard Liege in 2014. Balikwisha made his professional debut for Standard Liege on 18 August 2018, featuring in a 3–0 win over Lokeren. He later gained experience on loan at Cercle Brugge in 2019 and MVV Maastricht in the Dutch second tier in 2020. Returning to Standard Liege, he made 28 appearances in the 2023–24 season before joining OH Leuven on 20 July 2024. Primarily a midfielder, Balikwisha has also been used as an attacking midfielder, right winger and central midfielder, reflecting his positional flexibility. He represented DR Congo at under-23 level in 2019, then made his senior debut on 24 March 2023 in a 3–1 victory over Mauritania.
