Viljar Helland Vevatne

Viljar Helland Vevatne is a Norwegian defender from Stavanger, born on 7 December 1994. He developed in Viking’s youth system after joining from Tjensvoll at 11, but had to leave the club to establish himself in senior football. Vevatne signed his first professional contract with Bryne in 2014 before moving to Brann in 2015. After making three first-team appearances for Brann, he joined Sandnes Ulf in 2016, where regular football helped advance his career. In January 2018, Vevatne returned to Viking, beginning a sustained second spell with the Stavanger club. Primarily a left-back who can also play at centre-back, he has been described as a disciplined defender who contributes to build-up play and protects his team’s shape. Vevatne was part of Viking’s 2025 Eliteserien-winning campaign, making eight appearances as the club secured the title.
