Ville Tikkanen

Ville Tikkanen is a Finnish defender who plays primarily as a centre-back. Born on 8 August 1999, he developed in Oulu with Tervarit and OLS before moving to SJK in 2017. At SJK, Tikkanen progressed from a young squad player into a regular starter and became an established figure in the Veikkausliiga side. He helped SJK finish third in 2021 and was named the club’s captain on 27 March 2024. After seven years with SJK, he joined HJK Helsinki at the start of 2025 on a two-year contract. With HJK, he has continued to operate in central defence, contributing to build-up play through vertical passing while using positioning, interceptions and aerial strength to protect the area. Tikkanen has also represented Finland at youth level and made his senior debut during the 2026 World Cup qualifying cycle.
