Vladimir Ionuț Screciu

Vladimir Ionuț Screciu is a Romanian midfielder born on 13 January 2000 in Corabia. He began at CSȘ Corabia before joining the FC Universitatea Craiova academy in 2011 and moving to the modern Universitatea Craiova setup in 2013. Screciu made his Liga I debut against Steaua București on 2 October 2016, aged 16, and soon became a regular for Craiova. In June 2018, Genk signed him, but injuries restricted his opportunities in Belgium. He returned to Universitatea Craiova in 2021 and rebuilt his career in Romania. Primarily a defensive midfielder, Screciu has also been used at centre-back, where his positional reading and passing support the first phase of build-up. He has represented Romania at senior level and has been part of Craiova teams that won the Romanian Cup and Super Cup.
