Viktor Örn Margeirsson

Viktor Örn Margeirsson is an Icelandic defender who developed in Breidablik’s youth system. Born on 22 July 1994, he began his senior career through loan spells with Augnablik in 2012 and 2013, followed by HK in 2014 and IA Akranes in 2017. He subsequently returned to Breidablik and established himself in the first team, making more than 180 domestic league appearances for the Kópavogur club. Primarily a centre-back, Margeirsson has also filled in at right-back, giving his team additional defensive flexibility. His game is associated with composed build-up passing, positional awareness, aerial defending and recovering possession. He has represented Breidablik in UEFA Champions League qualifying and the UEFA Conference League group stage during the 2023–2026 period. Margeirsson made his senior Iceland debut against Saudi Arabia in a friendly on 6 November 2022.
